Jack Summers

Songwriter

Jack Summers is a songwriter from Weston, Missouri. He splits his time between the road and working as a teacher’s assistant in an elementary special education classroom. His live performances pair award-winning songs with stories about his classroom, his life, and his ongoing existential crisis. He’s also been known to open a few packs of baseball cards on stage.

Inspired by songwriters like John Prine, Bob Dylan, and Jason Isbell, Jack writes songs with a focus on sharp storytelling, memorable characters, and hard-to-answer questions.

In 2023, Jack won the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest, helping launch a touring schedule that has taken him everywhere from honky-tonks in Austin to the backwoods of Awendaw, South Carolina, to Iowa’s oldest barn.

Jack released his debut album, No Longer and Not Yet, in 2021. His second album, Konza Prairie Hymnal, was released in 2026. His upcoming EP is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
